This position is for a part-time freelance designer who lives for creative challenges and thrives on turning bold ideas into reality. What Makes You Perfect for This Role
You’re the designer who sketches ideas on napkins because inspiration strikes anywhere. Your creative process involves deep diving into research, finding unexpected connections, and emerging with concepts that make clients say “wow.” You don’t just use design software – you push its boundaries to create something entirely new.
Essential Capabilities
- Transform abstract concepts into compelling visual narratives through thoughtful ideation and innovative design approaches
- Develop comprehensive brand identities that tell authentic stories and resonate with target audiences
- Create custom designs in Adobe & Canva that transcend standard templates, showing mastery of the platforms’ full potential
- Craft unique logos that capture brand essence while pushing creative boundaries (illustrative skills a major plus for those clients that want something with a little more personality and customization)
- Design website mockups that balance innovative aesthetics with intuitive user experience
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and deliver exceptional first-round concepts
- Show proficiency in translating research and inspiration into original design solutions
- Execute projects across various mediums while maintaining consistent brand integrity
Technical Requirements
- Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite (Minimum: Illustrator, InDesign Photoshop, XD)
- Advanced proficiency in Canva Pro (beyond template customization)
- Strong understanding of design principles with the wisdom to know when to break them
- Experience with website design and UI/UX best practices (you have been a part of the creative process of designing and building websites, preferably using Elementor Pro)
- Portfolio demonstrating diverse, innovative work that pushes creative boundaries
The Ideal Candidate
- Operates as a dedicated freelance designer with the flexibility to prioritize Brandkyn projects
- Shows evidence of self-directed learning and staying ahead of design trends
- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional quality
- Possesses a natural curiosity that drives exploration of new design approaches
- Values iteration and refinement in the pursuit of excellence
Compensation
- Competitive compensation starting at $36/hour, with opportunities for increased rates based on project complexity and demonstrated excellence.
- ~20-30 hours per month
- Project-based flat rates available for specific engagements
- Paid test project for final candidates
